"Riverhead has nearly 5,000 population, first class schools, banks, manufactories, stores, fine hotels, electric lights, sewerage, macadamized streets, churches, eight in number. Located on main line of Long Island Railroad, (now owned and controlled by the Pennsylvania Company), with beautiful Peconic Bay on the east, Great South Bay on the south, and Long Island Sound on the north. One of the principal cities on Long Island. Popular summer Resort. A delightful winter home with all modern conveniences of a large city.
