View of Mohnton, Berks County, P.A., 1898 / drawn & published by Bailey & Moyer.

This panoramic print of Mohnton, Pennsylvania was drawn and published by Bailey & Fowler in 1898. Benjamin Mohn purchased a farm along Wyomissing Creek in 1846. Stores and mills were built near the creek and Mohnsville was laid out. The community flourished as factories were established; hat factories being the most prominent. The fast running creek powered these profitable hat manufactories as well as a popular gun barrel factory operated by William Pennepacker. Mohnsville prospered with these manufacturers and was incorporated in 1907 adjusting its name to Mohnton.
