Beautiful perspective view map of West Superior, Wisconsin, drawn by A. L. Langellier and published by Henry Wellge & Co. in 1887, reprint. This real estate promotional map shows Duluth and West Superior during its heyday as a major shipping and railroad hub. The copy at the bottom reads: "West Superior was started in 1885 by the Land and River Improvement Co. It lies less than two miles distant from the business portion of Duluth, across the bay of St. Louis and is now incorporated with old Superior under the name of Superior; population estimated at 3,000". In the foreground of the map is Duluth Harbor Basin and the many transportation facilities of 1887. There are noteworthy buildings, railroad routes and clearly labeled streets indicated.
