This detailed print of Maynard, Massachusetts was drawn and published by O. H. Bailey & J. C. Hazen in 1879. Maynard was incorporated in 1871 along the Assabet River. The Assabet Woolen Mill at that location was a large producer of Union army woolens, flannels and blankets during the American Civil War.

The illustration shows waterways, labeled roads, buildings and railroad route. A more detailed portrayal of the Assabet Manufacturing Company is displayed at the bottom.
