This bird’s-eye view print of Naperville, Illinois was drawn by Albert Ruger and published by Merchant’s Lithographing Co. in 1869. Naperville was settled by Europeans in the early 1830's along the DuPage River.
When DuPage County was created Naperville became its seat of government. It remained county seat until one year before the publishing of this map.
The map includes labeled streets, buildings and railroad route. It features an inset illustration of the Public School.
