This panoramic print of Great Bend, Pennsylvania was drawn and published by Lucien R. Burleigh in 1887. Great Bend Township was settled in the late 1700's as Willingborough along the Susquehanna River. The town��s name was changed in 1814 and it was incorporated as a borough in 1861. Great Bend��s early economic interests were in the timber and tanning industries.

The map from 1887 includes labeled streets, bridges, buildings and railroad lines.
