This panoramic map of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania was drawn by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler and published by T. M. Fowler & James B. Moyer in 1894. Mount Joy began as a stopover along an early turnpike between Lancaster and Harrisburg. When the Pennsylvania Railroad was built through the area in the 1800's, Mount Joy acquired a depot along its route. Mount Joy maintained as an agricultural and timber community throughout the 1800's. Its manufacturers included a large woolen mill, a grey iron casting works, and several carriage makers.

The map includes labeled streets, buildings, bridges and railroad routes.
