This panoramic print of Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania was drawn by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler and published by T. M. Fowler & James B. Moyer in 1894. Pen Argyl was established by workers of the Pennsylvania Slate Company���s various quarries in the area. Incorporated in 1882, Pen Argyl is located in the township of Plainfield. The community was served by the Lehigh & New England Railroad. The Slate-Belt trolley passed through the village. Pen Argyl prospered with the quarrying of slate and clay.

The map from 1894 includes labeled streets, buildings and railroad routes. It shows location sites of the following quarries:
