This panoramic print of Point Marion, Pennsylvania was drawn and published by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler in 1902. Point Marion was established at the confluence of the Monongahela and Cheat Rivers in the 1840's. The community prospered with its valued glass manufacturers that located there. In 1902, Leon Houze founded the Houze Glass Co. in Point Marion. The company would later become a major employer of Point Marion as it manufactured patented tempered-glass goggles widely used during World War 1.
