This bird’s-eye view print of Salt Lake City, Utah was drawn by Augustus Koch and published by Chicago Lithographing Co. in 1870. Salt Lake City was finally reached, via a connecting route, by the Transcontinental Railroad in 1870. From that point onward, the community at Salt Lake City could easily transport the agricultural produce of the area to outlying towns. An extensive streetcar system was installed two years later.

The map includes labeled streets, buildings and vicinity. Featured are inset illustrations of the following:

Court House.
Walker Bros. Wholesale and Retail Store.
Wm. Howard Wholesale Liquor Store. Established 1859.
Godbe & Co. Exchange Building.
City Hall.
Co-operative Mercantile Institution.
1st National Bank of Utah. Billiard Hall.
Residence of President B. Young.
