This reproduction aero-view map of Keystone, West Virginia was drawn and published by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler in 1911. Mineral rich McDowell County contains silver, iron, lead, arsenic, salt, sulphur, niter and gypsum. The county predominately contained coal in the late 1800's, including bituminous and cannel coal. Keystone was established in 1892 by the Keystone Coal & Coke Company who held mining operations here at the time. The town was incorporated in 1909.

The view of Keystone from 1911 includes streets, buildings, carriage traffic, railroad routes and mining operations.
