New Martinsville, West Virginia 1899. Drawn by T. M. Fowler.

The reproduction view of New Martinsville, West Virginia was drawn by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler and published by T. M. Fowler & James B. Moyer in 1899. New Martinsville was incorporated as Martinsville in 1838 along the Ohio River. When Wetzel County emerged from Tyler County in 1846, the community became New Martinsville. The Ohio River Railroad began serving the community in 1883.

The map from 1899 includes clearly labeled streets, bridges, buildings, railroad line, and scenes of riverboat, carriage and pedestrian traffic. It features inset illustrations of the following:
