This panoramic print of Barre, Massachusetts was drawn and published by O. H. Bailey & Co. in 1891. Barre was the home to the Massachusetts Institution for the Education of Feeble Minded Youth in the 1800's. The community continues today in the direction and education of wayward youth, with the Stetson School, which began in 1899.
During the 1890's, Barre was a popular get-a-way destination for wealthy New Englanders.
