This panoramic print of Spencer, Massachusetts was drawn and published by O. H. Bailey & Co. in 1892. Spencer was settled in the 1700's as a stagecoach stop along the Old Boston Post Road.

The region, located on the banks of the Seven Mile River, was well-suited for manufacturing interests in the 1800's. Several shoe and boot manufactories emerged in Spencer during that time.
