View of Greenville, Hillsborough County, N.H., 1886 / drawn & published by L. R. Burleigh.

This bird’s-eye view print of Greenville, New Hampshire was drawn and published by Lucien R. Burleigh, Burleigh Lith. in 1886. Greenville was known as Mason Village until being incorporated as Greenville in 1872.

Its location at the falls of the Souhegan River enabled cotton and woolen mills to accumulate there. The Columbian Company established is first mills here in 1826, when it was still part of Mason. The community thrived with the mills in the late 1800's.

Greenville could be reached via the Boston & Maine Railroad in those days.

The illustration includes labeled roads, buildings and waterways. Featured is a reduced facsimile view of Mason Village published in 1847.
