This bird’s-eye view print of Mittineague, Massachusetts was drawn and published by Lucien R. Burleigh in 1889. Mittineague was settled in the 1730's along Westfield River.

When the railroad came through in the 1800's, mills and factories began to appear. By the late 1800's, a number of paper mills filled the area. The community grew around these mills.

Mittineague is now considered part of West Springfield.

The illustration includes labeled roads, buildings, waterways and railroad routes.
