About World Maps Online

I joined this family business in 2000 when we were reselling maps and globes. We'd started a few years as one of the first map and globe specialty shops, but back then we were basically a middleman: Taking orders and shipping products we didn't make.

The problem was, we couldn't always help people get what they needed. Someone would ask a technical question about materials or sizing or custom options, and we'd be stuck saying "this is what we have available." That didn't always sit right with me.

In 2010, we got our first wide-format printer. That changed everything. We could finally say yes to custom projects, different sizes, specific materials. Whatever actually solved the problem instead of whatever happened to be available.

Over the past 14 years, we've built out a real production workshop here in Seattle. Four wide-format printers, finishing equipment, the whole setup. We print everything from standard wall maps to custom murals sized for specific spaces.

What we're good at

Custom work. If you need something specific, a particular region, a certain size, historical accuracy, whatever.. our cartography team can usually make it happen. We've developed our own line of detailed wall maps in-house, and we handle custom requests the same way.

Our Seattle workshop handles our custom projects and core product line. Beyond that, we've partnered with select suppliers to expand our offerings and meet the full range of what customers need. If it's in our catalog, it's there because we trust the quality.

Map murals & wallpaper

We specialize in full wall map wallpaper for homes and offices. Whether you want a vintage world map for your study, a detailed regional map for a conference room, or custom cartography for a specific space, we handle everything from design to production. Our map murals can be printed to your exact wall dimensions and can be customized or personalized to achieve the look you want.

Educational maps

A significant part of our business is working with schools and educators. We supply everything from individual classroom wall maps to large-scale installations for libraries and common areas. If you're outfitting a classroom or need reference maps that can handle daily student use, we understand those specific requirements.

Why we do it this way

I'm someone who needs to understand the "why" behind things, and I assume you are too. When you're trying to figure out what map you need, I'd rather take the time to explain what actually matters, whether that's choosing the right projection for your use case, understanding size and scale trade offs, or figuring out mounting options...

The people who appreciate that approach tend to become long-term customers.

What to expect

We're a small team. Three people. If you email or use web chat, you're talking to someone on our actual team. Phone goes to an answering service, but we return calls. Social media comments, I read personally.

We're not going to have Amazon-level fulfillment speed or instant responses, but you'll get real answers from people who actually know this stuff.
