This bird’s-eye view print of Beverly Farms, Massachusetts was drawn and published by Oscar W. Walker in 1886. Beverly Farms prospered as a farming community near Manchester Bay. Crops abundantly grown in the area included hay, rye, oats, barley, corn and potatoes.

In the late 1800's, Beverly Farms was a popular vacation spot for wealthy New Englanders. Several vacation manors and cottages were built there during that time.

In 1887, the citizens of Beverly Farms lobbied for incorporation as an independent city, but were denied. Beverly Farms remains a scenic ocean front portion of Beverly today.

The illustration shows coastline, roads, buildings and railroad routes.
