This panoramic print of Edgartown, Massachusetts was drawn and published by Geo. H. Walker & Co. around 1886. The port town of Edgartown was settled in the mid-1600's on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. Early days of Edgartown were supported by the whaling and fishing industries.

By the late 1800's, Edgartown was becoming a popular New England get-a-way with many expensive summer homes and ornate hotels.

The map shows labeled streets, wharves, buildings and vicinity. An inset illustration portrays the Mattakesett Lodge, Katama, near South Beach.
