Peruuiae avriferæ regionis typus / Didaco Mendezio auctore. La Florida / auctore Hieron. Chiaues. Gaustecan reg.

This beautiful map was originally published in 1584, by famed Flemish cartographer Abraham Ortelius. Ortelius is credited as being the first to produce the modern atlas, the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum. He was also the first to propose the idea of continental drift, after recognizing the similarities between the coasts of Europe and the Americas.
