This panoramic print of Shakopee, Minnesota was drawn and published by Albert Ruger & J. J. Stoner 1869. Shakopee was established in the 1850's southwest of Minneapolis along the banks of the Minnesota River. The former Indian trading center was designated as the seat of government for Scott County.

Corn was grown abundantly in the area. In 1869 Shakopee was served by the Minnesota River Valley Railroad, which later became a portion of the Great Northern Railway.

The map includes labeled streets, buildings and railroad route.
