Reproduction panoramic map of Clinton, New York, published by Lucien R. Burleigh in 1885. Clinton, in Oneida County, was settled in the mid-1700's and became known as the "Village of Schools". In 1793, the Hamilton College was founded on what would become "College Hill", named for the large number of private institutions that were established here during the nineteenth century. Ezra Pound attended Hamilton College.
