map of Oregon City. The map is not dated but appears to be from the
1850s. An American flag flies from a tall-mast sailing vessel on the
Willamette River. Oregon City was the first city, west of the Rockies,
to be incorporated. The territorial capital from 1848 - 1851, it was
an important stop for anyone wishing to file a claim in the Oregon
Territory.
