Lesson 

The constitution of the United States provides for the representation of each state in the legislative branch of the government. Each year members of the House of Representatives and Senate make many trips back and fourth between their home states and the city of Washington, D. C. where the business of our nation is conducted. 



Find and circle Washington, D. C. on your globe. Washington's location is 39N/77W. The representatives and senators from which state have the longest travel distance to our capital city.
