This bird’s-eye view print of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania was drawn by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler and published by T. M. Fowler & James B. Moyer in 1901. Sharpsville was established in the early 1800's along the Shenango River. Lumbering was an important early interest of Sharpsville.

Incorporated as a borough in 1874, Sharpsville prospered greatly with the discovery of coal in Pennsylvania as furnaces emerged throughout the region for manufacture of pig iron. Late in the 1800's attention turned toward the making of steel.

The map shows Sharpsville’s labeled streets, buildings, bridges and railroad lines.
