This panoramic print of Pitcairn, Pennsylvania was drawn by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler and published by T. M. Fowler & James B. Moyer in 1901. The borough of Pitcairn was founded along Turtle Creek when, in the 1880's, Robert Pitcairn of the Pennsylvania Railroad established the railroad’s car repair shops, roundhouse and switching yards there. The valuable railroad hub employed thousands and the community was formed to accommodate the workers.

The map from 1901 includes streets, buildings and railroad lines.
