The booming town of Buena Vista, Virginia is
shown in this 1891 perspective map. Published just one year after the
city was granted its charter from the State of Virginia in 1890. Inset
illustrations include the Buena Vista Company's Office, the new Public
School, opened in 1890 and the Hotel Buena Vista, completed in 1891, later
to become the Main Hall for Southern Seminary College. The Buena Vista
Basic Steel Works and an unnamed church are also featured illustrations,
along with an inset map depicting the Railroad Facilities of Buena Vista. Referenced places are
shown below. |

was collected for conservation are left un-retouched, as they reflect
the character and charm of the vintage original. Some major
imperfections, such as dark fold lines have been removed when possible.

damaged.
