An ultra high quality satellite image map print of Antarctica.
This is a high quality Giclee print of the ice covered continent of Antarctica. The incredible detail of the continents many ice shelves and glaciers is simply astounding. The map is based on a collection of datasets from the RADARSAT Antarctic Mapping Project (RAMP) including the RAMP AMM-1 SAR image mosaic of Antarctica and RAMP digital elevation model, both version 2. The topographic data combined with SAR image mosaic provide a detailed look at Antarctica's ice sheet morphology, rock outcrops, glaciers, research infrastructure, coastline, and mountainous terrain.
You can clearly distinguish many of Antarctica's geographic features such as the Flincher-Ronne ice shelf, the Transantarctic Mountains, and many of the most important glaciers. Labels on the map indicate: ice sheets, international scientific research stations, geographic regions, islands, major seas, and mountain ranges. It also features a 10° latitude/longitude grid.
Each map is produced as a detailed museum quality archive print. This special printing process is known as Giclee (zhee-CLAY) and is commonly used to produce very high quality fine art prints. Printed on Archive Paper, Luster Photo Paper, Matte Canvas or Metal.
Map print ships rolled up in a durable cardboard tube. Frame is not included.

*If planning to have the canvas stretched on to a wood frame we recommend the option with a 2" margin. Map dimensions will be 4" smaller due to margins.* The outer 2" area of the map is mirrored as a border for wrapping around a frame.
Canvas on Wood Rails - A canvas print is mounted to wooden hanging rails placed along the top and bottom of the map. Ready to hang on the wall using the attached hanging cord. Wood rails feature a natural finish.
Metal Print w/ Wood Frame - A premium print on metal that looks incredibly vivid. The map is printed on a 1/16" thick aluminum panel. A 3/4" deep wood frame is applied to the back of the metal print, recessed in about 2" from edges giving the print a floating effect when hung on the wall.
