Le Roy, N.Y. Reproduction panoramic map of Le Roy, New York, published by Burleigh Litho. Co. in 1892. Le Roy is a town on the banks of Oatka Creek in Genesee County. The town was named after early landowner Herman Le Roy. The community's most important industry has always been the harvesting of salt, but it was also known, in the late 1800's, for its production of patent medicines and household chemicals. In the foreground of this panoramic map we see the creek dam and its rapids near the flour and grist mills belonging to John Haskins.
This map from 1892 shows buildings, railroad route and labeled street names.
