Spofford and published by C. S. Hammond & Co. around 1926. The image from the 1920's shows the location the Sesquicentennial Exposition Grounds and Stadium. The 1926 celebration noting the signing of the Declaration of Independence 150 years prior was held near Philadelphia’s riverfront and the naval shipyard. Exhibitors from all over the world welcomed nearly 10,000,000 visitors to extravaganza. An eighty-foot Liberty Bell graced the entrance to amusements, world cuisine restaurants, exhibits, a dance hall, a swimming pool and a stadium.
