This aero-view print of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania was drawn by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler and published by T. M. Fowler & James B. Moyer in 1891. Tobyhanna was established along a valuable turnpike between Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre.
The highly forested region afforded several saw mills to be erected at Tobyhanna. The hills and valleys that surrounded the settlement were abundantly covered with groves of hemlock, pine, spruce, oak, chestnut and wild cherry.
Tobyhanna was served by the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. Tobyhanna Creek flows through town. Later, Tobyhanna became a major site of the ice industry.
The map includes Tobyhanna streets and buildings of 1891.
