United States Satellite Image
Map
Enhanced Physical Giclee Archive Print
This enhanced physical satellite image map of the entire 50 states of the
United States features topography and hydrology depicted in exceptional
detail. This view of the U.S. was developed by using multiple whole Earth
mosaics of satellite images collected in 1997 with the NOAA TIROS satellite.
It is cloud free, utilizing two visual bands and three thermal bands. The
land cover image was combined with high resolution hydrology and elevation
data to produce the final image resulting easy to discern natural features
such as rivers, mountains, and forests. The source resolution of this map is
30 arc-seconds (1 pixel per km at the equator). State and international
borders are demarcated using red outlines. There is also a 15° latitude,
longitude grid. An excellent map for those interested in understanding the
physical geography of America.
Each map is available in an archival museum quality
print. This special printing process is known as Giclee (zhee-CLAY) and is
commonly used to produce museum quality fine art prints. Large format
digital images are printed on premium 10 mil (0.25mm) glossy photo paper,
the result is a brilliant colorful image with a vivid life-like quality.
Pigment based Epson UltraChrome K3 ink is used providing
a lightfastness rating of up to 108 years, guaranteeing minimal noticeable
fading over a very long period of time. Giclee printing is superior to
traditional lithography in a number of ways: colors are brighter, lasts
longer, and is a higher resolution.
