A fascinating look at the Carina Nebula captured by the Hubble Space Telescope. Shown here is a 50-light-year wide view of the central region of the Carina Nebula, a turbulent display of star birth and death. This incredible fantasy landscape is the result of outflowing winds and scorching ultraviolet radiation from the massive stars inhabiting this nebula. At least a dozen stars with a mass 50 to 100 times our Sun are located in this nebula. These stars are tearing through the surrounding material from which they were born resulting in a colorful display of gas and dust.
A beautiful wide-format space nebula mural. Perfect for the astronomy buff or anyone with a fascination of the universe we live in.
