The Seaboard, Pennsylvania & Western Railroad served the northern Pennsylvania coal fields during the 1880's. The railroad ran between the Pittsburgh area and Ashland.
At Herndon there was a connection with the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad.
Other stops of the Seaboard, Pennsylvania & Western included Blairsville, Cambria, Cresson, Huntingdon, Lewistown and Edensburg.
