This bird’s-eye view print of Sandwich, Massachusetts was drawn and published by A. F. Poole in 1884. The village of Sandwich was settled in the 1630's amid the ponds and rivulets of Cape Cod. Sandwich was an important fishing village in its early years.
The Boston & Sandwich Glass Company was established here in 1825. The company produced lead-based glass and was responsible for several early advances in the production of glass.
