This scenic print of Millersburg, Pennsylvania was drawn by Thaddeus Mortimer Fowler and published by T. M. Fowler & James B. Moyer in 1894. Millersburg was established in the early 1800's as a ferry boat hub for crossings on the Susquehanna River. Flat bottom rafts were first used for the crossing. Paddle wheel boats have made the runs since 1873. During Pennsylvania’s coal era Millersburg was an important transportation center for shipment of the valued ore.
